NEEDLE IN JOCKEY’S LEG

PERTH, Dee. 10.—Tho Perth Jockey Club held a meeting, to-day. A remarkable incident ha) loom'd {luring the running of the third race Belmont Park this' afternoon. Leonard, who was riding Tambaroora in a. field of 24, was in (ho centre of a packed bunch, when lie felt a sharp pain in Iris right leg just above tbe knee. It numbed the leg, and lie was suffering severe pain. When bo returned! to scale ho was immediately examined by Dr. Officer, who extracted from the leg a. long darning needle, about 2in. of which was buried in tho flesh. It is difficult to ascertain who was responsible, or wherethe needle came from.
