For the Nordeu Cup hockey match tho ground was heavy on account of tho recent rain. ■ Wanganut (challengers) made the pace at the beginning of the game, and scored two goals. Taranaki got going, and soon equalised. The second half was fast, but both sides lacked finish. Tho combination was generally poor, big hitting being favored.
