The Sub-Committee on Education reported recommending the raising of a 'local loan of hall* a million for educational purposes. It is stated that the Rugby League proposes sending a team, to New Zealand at the end of the premiership matches.
Dr. Cumpton, Federal Director of Health, has announced that, the direct importation of cotton seed is not to be alowed, with the object of pieventing the introduction of weevil, which caused extensive destruction • to cotton plants in America. All siccd was to be quarantined before it was delivered and was sown only by tho State authorities or approved! growers. Federal Parliamentarians arc concerned about tho cast of Dr. Brown's expedition to New Guinea. The oost to tho Commonwealth already exceeds ten thousand pounds. It is stated it may reach twenty thousand. Dr. Brown'.s interim report denies the report that the expedition was lost. He states that at all times he was in wireless communication witli the Administration.

The Treasurer i stated interest payable on New South Wales loans during tho coming year amounted to £8,310,000, which would eat up twenty per cent, of the State's revenue.

Tn tb© Assembly Mr J. V. McDonald (Labor) was elected by thirty-seven to thirty-four to tiuj Senate vacancy caused by tbo death of Mr Adamson. Mr McDonald is a New Zealander.
Mr Justice McCawley ordered the preference to unionists clause in the bricklayers' award to be struck out, in consequence of a strike on a city building through a returned soldier being employed who was refused admission to the union.
