The tournament was continued to-day, when three further rounds were being played off. ( On Monday the section winners will play off in the semi-finals, and a consolation match will also he played. Tonight the visitors will be entertained by the players at a smoke', concert , and tomorrow will be taken for a drive into the country.

OPEN PAIRS TOURNAMENT. An open pairs tournament between members of the three local clubs was commenced yesterday morning, the games being played on' the Gisborne and Kahutia greens.-- The games consisted of 15 heads, and eight games will heplayed in section. Four games were got through vesterda}', and the others are being completed' tq-day. The finals will be played on Monday. The .weather was. fine throughout, and some excellent contests took place. In the thud round of the A section, played on the Gisborne green, Butler beat Short (sub.), and his mate by 25 to nil—a rather unique performance.
