(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day

Two long sentence prisoners, Allan Anderson, aged 28, and John Andrew McWilliams, 22 years, were both sentenced to ten days' bread and water, for attempting to escape from Mount Eden gaol by a window. DUNEDIN, this day.

Plunket, a one-armed man, who broke prison and was at large for five months, pleaded guilty, in the Police Court, of escaping from custody and committing burglaries. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
