. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. At the Supreme Court, William Cos, aged 64 years, came up for sentence for theft and false pretence's. He had pleaded guilty to theft of £9B, premiums collected while he was ng<mt for the Temperance and General" Mutual Life Association. He had made restitution. Mis Honor said it was hot desirable that prisoner Should be released on probation, lie was fined £3O. Winifred Cookloi aged 19- years, on six charges of breaking and entering, was admitted to probation for three- years.
