ROME, Feb. 12.
To-day’s events are regarded as marking a new step in the relations between the Church and the Italian Government. It was the first time since the Papacy’s loss of temporal power that St. Peter’s Square was filled by such an enormous crowd, and the first time since 1870 that the bugles of the Italian army heralded the Pontiffs appearance.
