A mysterious campaign of defamation against the financial stability of France is being waged, according to M. Barbielot, a special commissioner of the Bourse, who informed the police that great numbers of telegrams arrive daily from abroad, chiefly from London, addressed to French business people, warning them of the instability of French banks and other institutions. The signatories tannot be identified. The Minister fqr the Interior, in a statement to Cabinet on the subject, said he believed it was a deliberate attempt to sow finanuai mistrust of France.
