G.R-.C. PRESIDENTS FOURS. The Gisborne Rowing Club’s series of four-oar races for Mr 0. W. Muir’s cup was continued this morning, on the Ta ruberu river, when F. H. Jones’ crew defeated M. C. Fraser’s four by a bare, length, after a hard race. Fraser got the better of the start, and rapidly got under way, with a short, sea guv stroke. Jones had more weight, an i after rear .Ting com a bad start, Sevang out and soon ihv.r level with the lighter crew. At the Roebuck road bridge Jones had a lead of half a length, which lie increased between Reliance street and Derby street to a length and a quarter. Fraser called on his crew for a spurt at Derby street, and sueeeded in reducing the lead, but could not maintain the effort sufficiently long. Jones was supported by L. Hansen, O. Jeune, and E. Gofl’d, and Fraser by E. R. Thomas, L. Harries, and K. Wood-! ward. Racing will oontinue this evening and; to-morrow morning and afternoon. J
