At the tallow sales 2182 casks were offered and 152 sold at. late rates to sixpence advance; mutton 42s 3d'to 38s 6<l; beef 42s lo 38s. (Received February 10, 10.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, February 10. The hide market is irregular. Alodiums are a farthing to a half-penny lower. Heavies and light kips are unchanged. Bailey, English 4s 4d, 4s 6d ; Cape 3s Id, 3s 2d ; oats 3s 3d, 3s sd; potatoes £3 15s, £4 ss; onions £6 10s, £7 15s. LONDON TALLOW SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Company have received the following cable from their London office: — “At the tallow sales this week two thousand casks were offered and fourteen hundred sold; prices unchanged to 6d per cwt- higher The advance is chiefly on better qualities. Good mixed 39s 6d per cwt.” IHGII COMMISSIONER’S CABLE. The Department of Agriculture lias received the- following cablegram, dated February 4, from Ihe High Commissioner : .Meat.—Reported that c.i.f. business is less active, hut moderate demand continues for. supplies on spot.
