SHIPPING.
DEPARTURES. Monday, Feb. 6. Westmeath, s.s. (6.10 p.m.), 8129 tons, Cairn, for Wellington. The Araliura is posted to sail from Auckland at 3 p.m. to-day for Tokomam Ray and Gisborne. It is doubtfull if the steamer will .reach this port in time to be tendered for imv.ard passengers only to-morrow. Consequently there is to be one launch for inward and outward passengers, which is fixed fol--4 p.m. (meantime) to-morrow. The Vessel afterwards proceeds on to Napier. Returning to Gisborne on Friday she is to he tendered with the launch for inward passengers at 5 a.m. (meantime). Owing to the- adverse weather necessitating the Araliura passing by Tokomar u liny on Saturday last without calling, the steamer is now to call there next Saturday, the lltli inst. It is intended to make the fortnightly calls at Tokomaru Uav from thenceforth.
The Wingatui is due at Napier this afternoon from Wellington and South Island ports, and is expected to be dispatched for Gisborne* to-morrow evening. It is hoped to finish the discharge of the vessel's southern produce here on Thursday night, and the ship then steams for Auckland.
The Federal Line ‘steamer Westmeath completed loading at (Jisbor'ne last night and sailed at 6.10 p.m. for Wellington. She is to take her final departure from the latter port, after taking on fresh bunker and water supplies, for the. West Coast of the United Kingdom.
The New Zealand Shipping Co’s steamer Ruapehu is due at Gisborne about the 20th inst. from Auckland to load 20,000 freight carcases of frozen meat from the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat Co’s works, and 5000 from Nelson Bros., besides a quantity of wool and general cargo. From here she is to go to Wellington to clear about February 28th.
Ihe Inga, which was delayed in the discharge of her coal this morning owing to a stop-work meeting, is now to finish unloading to-morrow. She is to commence loading timber to-morrow afternoon. and then sails for Ivopua and Hokianga to fill up before cleaning for Sydney. The Ripple is expected to reach Gisborne about ’Friday next from Napier and Wellington. Alto 1 ’ working here she proceeds back to Wellington.
The Putiki is on her way from Napier to Westport to load coal for Gisborne. The Tiroa arrived at Napier about 2.50 p.m. yesterday from Gisborne, and was 4o -.leave again at noon to-day on the return trip. At this port she is to load for Tokomaru Bay and Hicks Bay, after which she comes back here. The steamer is then to load for Auckland.
The topsail schooner War Lord is expected to finish the discharge of her cargo of poles from Auckland at Wairoa to-night. She is then to come on to Gisborne, leaving to-morrow. The ketch Huanui is expected to finish loading at Auckland to-day, and sail for Gisborne.
Tht' topsail schooner Elsie Mary should complete loading general cargo at Auckland to-day. She is then to set sail for Gisborne. After discharge here she is to load for Auckland. The aux- schooner Fairburn is now to be dispatched from Gisborne to-morrow with- coal for Tokomaru Hay. Aftei discharge at the latter port she is to return io Gisborno. The work on the bull of Nelson Bros." tug Hipi is proceeding, but it. is considered that it will be several' weeks vet before it is completed. TELEGRAPHIC SHIPPING. WEATHER REPORT. North-east to south-east breezes prevailed over the Dominion this morning, though north-west and south-west winds were blowing at Gisborne and 1 Napier. The weather generally was fine, though cloudy at Gisborne. Temperature records at 9 a.m. : Cape Maria 69, Auckland 65, Gisborne 63, Napier 62, Wellington 62. Christchurch 60, Dunedin 58, Bluff 61. STATE OF THE SEAS. There were no rough seas on the New Zealand coast to-day. Moderate seas were reported at Tiritiri and l Taurangp, a moderate swell at Gisborne, smooth at Napier and 1 Cape Palliser. WEATHER FORECAST. The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, easterly moderate to strong prevailing. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather and cold night. Barometer little movement. Sea moderate; tides good.
