The headquarters of tho combined concern is to remain at Eust on. The Railway Act, 1921, ,grouped both- companies with- the Lan-.-, . In default of the constituent companies of: eacli group . submittingan agreed upon amalgamation ''scheme,-' an amalgamation tribunal, provided" under tho Act, will prepare such a scheme. The London and North-western took over the Lancashire and Yorkshire line for administrative purposes in 1921, and tlie financial absorption has- now been completed. The nominal capital of the new combination amounts to 410 millions sterling, and the mileage is 14,122.
