AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
A meetnijv of,the Gisborno Amateur Athletic and Harriers Club was held 11. Hankey, 0. Paltrdige, E. McGerty, last- evening, there being present: Messrs H F. Forster, C. Brown, W. Hankey, A. Ingram, J. O'Donnell, and McFadven' (lion. sec). As delegates from the Amateur Cycling Club, Messrs. Lentell and Muirliead attended to discuss details of the sports meeting in connection with the visit of the Springbok athletes. Satisfactory arrangements were reported in regard to the Springbok meeting, and the meeting decided to record in the minutes its appreciation of the efforts of Mr. McFadven to secure the visit of the South Africans. An offer to assist- the club by every means in its power was received from the Oddfellows' Sports Club, and the secretary was instructed to acknowledge the offer, conveying the club's gratitude to the Oddlejlows.
As a special feature, of the programme lor the bic meeting, it was decided to include a 75yds championship of Poverty Bay. ~ ,
