(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The first heat of the Sanders Cup was won by the Southland boat Murihiku over a nine-mile course in the upper harbor, sailed in a flukey breeze, south-west and west. The' finishing times were: Murihiku 12hr. 34secs., Desert Gold 12hr. 28min. 2secs.,' Heather 12hr. 29 inin. 7secs., Linnet 12hr. 31min. 20scc. Iron Duke finished unofficially in 12hr. 42min., but was disqualified from the first mark for folding the flag. Murihiku led throughout, being very smartly handled. The result was never in doubt, barring accident. There was a. good contest for second place between Desert Gold and Linnet, but Heather, cleverly handled, got into third place on the beat home.
