HAWKE'S BAY AND GISBORNE TEAMS. The match commenced this morning between Hawke's Bay and Gisbome teams war, continued this afternoon in fino weather. The score at the luncheon adjourment was 202 for/the loss' of eight, wickets, the not out batsmen being Beuth (13), and Nelson (1).

Tlio partnership was broken almost immediately after tho- resumption of play, 'Nelson being clean bowled by Ternpertbii. The last batsman, Ricketls, failed to stay long, going out. l.b.w. to Tcmpcrton.'s bowling.—All out" for 210 runs. The local team's innings was opened by W. Blair and Nasmith, with O'Connell, and Beuth bowling. The .first over of the first-named bowler accounted for Blair's wicket, Iho batsman having scored one run. M. O'Brien joined Nasmith. The fielding of the. visitors was keener than that of the local players, and the batsmen played with caution. An occasional stroke; particularly a pretty cut by. Nasmith, drew a modicum of applause, but the' score moved up only slowly. At 23, Nasmith was caught behind the wicket by Slgnail, off O'C'onnell. Na smith's score was 11.
