THE WAIKANAE BEACH.
iTo the Editor, of tU6 Herald.) Sir, —For some time past town and country residents have been asked to subscribe and help in various ways to mako the Waikanao beach a. pleasure and a. comfort to all., Several of the country folk asked that a small piece of ground might, he set aside for a horse paddock, and one of the leading members of the. Beach Improvement Society promised that that should be done. • On going dow.n to the beach last week I found nothing had been done about providing a" small enclosure, find the.old plan of the'« "buggy on the road" and the "horse tied' to the fence" had to.be resorted to. This plan is far from satisfactory, as oiia cannot enjoy a, bathe or afternoon tea, while wondering if the horse fs all right. Hoping this matter will soon be rectified. I am. etc., 'WORRIED BATHER.
