MAINTENANCE ORDERS.
PROVISION FOR ENFORCEMENT. iSpectal 10 tne Herald.B WELLINGTON, this day. The Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Bill makes provision for the confirmation and enforcement in New Zealand of provisional orders made elsewhere within tho Empire on uling in the Magistrate's Court in New Zealand of a certified copy of an order. Clause four gives power for the making in New Zealand'of provisional orders against persons resident elsewhere within the Empire, such orders being dependent for their operation on continuation by competent Courts where the. defendant is residing. In the filth clause is contained a provision for confirmation in New Zealand of provisional orders made elsewhere, but before confirmation a defendant is to be given an opportunity of appearing' and raising a defence.
