ALLAN WILKIE COMPANY.
Indications point to a highly successful five nights' season for Mr. Wilkie's' Shakespearean Company. Since leaving Auckland the company has been playing between Palmerston North and Napier,to excellent houses. The company will arrive by the Arahura on Saturday morning, and will thus have ample time prior to the performance. Additional interest in the get-up is taken by those who have a knowledge of stage productions on account oi Mr. Wilkie's new methods. The action of the play is not interrupted by" noisy work on the stage, as the handling of bulky scenery is to"a great extent done away with, and in each of, Mr. JVilkie's productions there is only one short interval. By this means attention, is concentrated on the play, and even in "Hamlet," the longest play, there is no cutting of words. The first performance on Saturday night will be "The Merchant of Venice;" The box: plana are at Miller's Corner. ., -'.
