SYDNEY, May 51. —All the best features of last’s week’s auctions were agaii repeated at the Sydney wool sales yesterday. j A splendid attendance of buyers provided strong support, and out of 4486 bales offered, 4078 were cleared under tin hammer. Including ex-previous catalogues. 4934 bales changed hands to keen competition, not only for best descriptions, but, for medium and carbonising lines. Japan, France, and the Continent met with support from local, Bradford, and American buyers.
The top price paid was 27|d per lb. for a. New England (Ohio) wool, which was an especially attractive offering, being of splendid length, soft, and free.
