The City oF Sydney is issuing £1,000,000 worth of ten-year debentures, bearing interest at 6J, per cent., at £99. Tbe American Poultry Association, which has been putting the case before Congress for an increased protective tariff, has in its statement pointed out that ‘‘over sixteen million dollars' (£3,200,000) worth of eggs and egg produets, based on import value, were imported into the. United States from foreign countries, principally from the Orient, last year.
