TOURNAMENT COMMENCING TO MORROW.
Owing to the weather last week-end being rather boisterous, the first round of the A and B tournament has_ been postponed until to-morrow (Saturday), and if tho weather continues there should bo a record attendance on the links.
Owing to the number of playing members. this season, some are finding it inconvenient if they arrive late to start at tho first hole. It has now been found necessary to make two starting places for this season, the first and sixth holes, which should give all players a clear field in front of them.
It is very gratifying to see l)ie desire that members have to learn the game of golf on a proper footing, and judging by the number of engagements the i professional has hooked, next season' should see a complete change in the order of our scratch players. When visiting other links one thing that strikes the newcomer very forcibly is flic early arrival of the players at the links. This is absolutely necessary if they want to get a clear round without interruption, and it would be a good idea if this course were adopted on the links bv those who could start off, say, at 12.30 or 12.45.
For the betterment of golf generally the committee is trying to arrange for a . series of exhibitions by Mr. McCormick, the professional, to ttyke place one evening a month.
