PATHETIC EFFECT OF WAR.
PRINCE IN TEARS AT SIGHT OF LIMBLESS MEN. LONDON, March 10. The Prince of Wales, visiting Glasgow, had an enthusiastic- welcome in the streets, especially in the poorer districts. He inspected a number of works of art in the Trades House, where he was installed as a guild brother. A, touching incident occurred when the Prince was noticing a number of crippled, limbless soldiers watching from the roof of a building. He mounted a dark Btairway and shook hands with each man until he came to a soldier minus both arms, and another with both legs amputated, at which the Prince burst into tears.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
