MINING DISASTER.
PREMATURE EXPLOSION. TWENTY MEN BURIED INSIDE O MASS OF IRONSTONE. SYDNEY, March 10. After blasting operations at Hoskins mine, Eadia, Orange district, a mass of ironstone collapsed, burying 20 men. Following tbe usual'custom, men working on ore, fired several shots in an open face on the surface before the dinner interval. Soon after resuming, a fall occurred, the men without warning being buried under a mass of ironstone. Harrowing scenes were witnessed, families crowding around the mine and watching the rescue work, which is proceeding with feverish haste. So far six bodies have been recovered. There is little hope that any will be dug out alive. The men killed in Cadia Mine number nine the names are: Stanley Jenkins, Patrick McKeon,'. Alfred Campbell, Harry Burns, Charles Moore, Phillip ■Aright, John Miles, George Christie, Richard Johnson.
