HARBOR BOARD SCENE.
CHAIRS AS WEAPONS. MACK AY (N.S.W.), Fob. 25.—A dir,-, orderly scene occurred at the Harbor Board meeting to-day. Mr. Powell had two notices of motion. ruled out of ordei by the chairman, hut attempted to discuss them, whereupon the chairman ordered him to sit doW'n. Alt. Powell, resenting the order, exclaimed, “You dashed scoundrel. Anything that' affects yourself or exposes some trickery, you rule oiit. of order.' ITow members tolerate yon I don’t know l” . - Mr. Powell, refused to leave the boardroom when ordered to do so by the chairman. The meeting was adjourned; and an officer of the , hoard entered the room to eject Mr. Powell. The latter protected himself behind \ air uplifted 1 chair, and when this was brushed aside he adopted a ' fighting attitude, worked Ids way around the table, and got another chair. He was also relieved of this, and then picked up a spittoon, hut was prevented from,using it by an employee, who forced him down and unceremoniously dragged him towards the door, when another member, Mr. Edmonds intervened. Mr. Powell then left the' room, and business was resumed.
