COLLISION WITH ICICLE.

AN EXTRAORDINARY ACCIDENT. An extraordinary accident happened to a Swiss express recently. The Borthoud tunnel, through which it passed, was full of icicles caused by water filtering through the earth above. The engine dashed -into a great icicle and was damaged, while the driver received a terrible blow which out libface and tore out, one of bis eyes. He suffered agonies, and was covered with blood, but be stuck to his post bravely and brought the express safely to Berne. He was then taken to the hospital ih a fainting condition. All the passengers in the train, -mostly tourists on their way to Switzerland for the winter sports, felt tho shock and believed that a collision had taken place.
