LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY MISS BLEIBTREY. ft BRISBANE, Feb. 25. The iCOyds. ladies’ championship of Australia resulted as' follows: Miss Bliebtrey 1, Miss Mina Wylie 2, Miss Elsie Venning 3. Won by three yards. Time, 1.7 2-5. In the 150yds. ladips’ teams race tbe New South Wales team established an Australian record of 1.35 4-5, tho provious best being 1.39. —U.P.A. The third annual contest among tbe local primary schools for possession of tho Joyce swimming shield took place in the Gisborne baths yesterday afternoon, and resulted in Gisborne school retaining the shield. Martin (Mangapapa) just won from Miss R. Tvess (Gisborne), R., Thompson (Gisborne) being third.
