A visitor to Invercargill, formerly a farmer in the Southland district and now following an occupation that takes him a frood deal into the country, asked if there were many rabbits to bo seen, said I hey wero more numerous now 1 than ten years ago. About 1911 the settlers, ho added, worked systematically in dealing with the pest, but since then it had been gradually getting worse until during the war period, the Act was not strictly enforced owing to the shortage of labor, and the rabbit largely increased.
