| A SPLENDID YEAR. WELLINGTON, this day. ♦ Mr. F. W. Nicholson, manager for New Zealand for the National Mutual Life Association, has received the following cable message from the head ♦office, Melbourne: “The new business fftr the year just ended has been the best on, record. The amount written was £6.£09 000, being nearly £900,000 more than last year. The total income for the year, including premiums and interest, was nearly £2,500,000, £225,000 more than last vear. The death claims amounted to £381,000, being a quarter of a million less than, last year. The interest earned on the average funds is over five per cent., and the total assets of tin* association now stand at nearly £14.(00 009. The new business written in New Zealand for the past year was close on £1,000.000. —Herald Special.
