True 'bills were returned in the following cases: Samuel McConaghty, foi alleged obscenity; William Henry Gibbons, for alleged assault and robbery ; Thomas Henry-Davidson, for alleged manslaughter; Frederick Spencor Easfcon, for alleged perjury; and Thomas Livinstone, ! for alleged assault. this day. The conference called by tho Alliance of Labor to discuss a more efficient method of industrial organisation was attended by representatives of 21 national Labor organisations, representing about' 85.000 workersi Mr J. Mack was appointed chairman. Tho conference is still pro- ' weding, but it was reported that good progress had been made in the direction I of securing unity in matters affecting labor from a national point of view. ...: DUNEDIN,- this day.
