Mr. Massey had also done excellent work at the Peace Conference, a " In- reply, Mt< Massey said it was party loyalty to him, that enabled him to retain the position he held. The party had achieved success and obtained goqd results, because it had not sought Its own ■aggrandisement, but had done what, was right in the interests ot- the country.' Il« had' been proud to represent Nqw Zealand at ' the great conferences in the Old World, and one could not pass through those experiences without gaining wider knowledge arid a better grip of Imperial 'affairs. He was pleased that his work was appreciated. : The address, which is' framed, in New Zealand woods, expresses hearty congratulations on the victory at the i.iO election, and states that Mr. Massey had showed '-high courage and determination in the year's following 1903, when, with a handful of followers, he led what looked like a forlorn hope. A tribute is paid to his unfailing tact and tireless energy, and courage/ and to. his work as head of the National Government- The address; which- begirs 41 signatures'- concludes with an assurance of confidence and. loyalty.
