Div SCott presided. Alter outlining the alms and objects ■ ol isucU an association as was mooted, he : moved that an association be formed,, to • be Known as the ',' Amateur" Boxers' : Association of Gisborne and District." The resolution was seconded and carried unanimously. . The election of officers then ' took place, and the following ' were elected; .President,. Dr. Scott; patrons, Sir James Carroll, Messrs. YW. D. Lysnar, M.P..H. de Lautoiir, and K. S. Williams;•vice-pre-sidents, Lieut. Bulge, Messrs. IJ. F. ■■ -For-■s-ter ahd W. PetherJjiidge; hon. secretary, Mr. Des. Lawless;, treasurer, Dr. Chas. Scott; committee' (.with ''power 1 tb add), Ser-geant-AJajbr Morris." Messrs. A. Burt, F. Gribbett, . C. McCoy,' L. McKay, D. Lawless,. 'T. Biirt, Sergeant TV File, and Sergeant Albrecht.Jt was decided that five . should form ; a quoruih at a meeting, and the committee appointed will meet m the training rooms neit Thursday at 8 p.m. . On the motion of Mr. Forster, who eulogised the . valuable work that Dr. Scott was doing m the interests of amateur boxing and physical culture m ihe town, a hearty vote of thanks to the doctor was carried by acclamation.Over DO members, handed m their names to join the association, and very encouraging support .was.' .received from outlying districts; which ' should . bring the total up to. about 150 members. .
