TRADE WITH BRISTOL.
A NEW COLD STORE. • - ;■-'■'' LONDON, Sept. 15. Mr. A. Fisher, Sir J. Alleb, and the Agents-General journeyed to Bristol foi the purpose of inspecting a new cole 'store costing £150,000, with a capacity of 200,000 carcases. It was erected tc meet the demands of the growing direel trade between Bristol and Australasia. .The. dock committee entertained -the j visitors at luncheon, when, the chairman pointed out that ten million people lived within a radius of 100 miles oi Bristol. They would provide a markel for Australasian produce. The recent j doubling of the railway freights had ' handicapped the \overland transport from London docks and correspondingly j favored Bristol. . 1 Mr. Fisher and Sir James Allen stated that Australasia was extremely .anxious to epcourage direct trade with British and coastal ports for the purpose of jr facilitating the distribution of their.products.—A. and N.Z.CA.
