WASHINGTON, August 14.— Plans are m active preparation for the first "round , the world" aerial derby, it became known < to-day. * A special commission appointed 1 by the Aero Club of America, and 'the / Aerial League of America, after covering' most of the tentative route, has com- ; pleted an organisation. • I
A test flight of the. entire route, is m preparation, the strat to be made from London m an improved Handley-Page airplane earring ten passengers.
THe tentative route, for the Derby itself follows.- New York to Seattle, 2929 miles; to Ypkahama via Aleutian Islands, ;Vilß miles; Shanghai, 1266 miles; Bangkok, Siam, 2095 milos; Karachi, India, via Rangoon and Delhi, 2563 miles; Bagdad, 1536 miles; Rome, via Greece, 1876 miles; Iveland (coast), via London and Paris, 1528 miles; Newoundland .1875 miles; ■ to'New York, 1123 miles. Total distance lo be traversed, 22,201 miles.
