Another admirer of the beautiful typiste, who began wearing expensive clothes after her meeting with him at Brighton, proved an alibi. A large automobile with glaring headlights was seen standing unattended for 90 minutes, at a seaside road on the night of the murder. It is now thought that this, incident was not'connected with the crime. The police have released the two men who were supposed to have been in company with the girl on the afternoon of the murder, and are now seeking two soldiers who were seen running from the beach soon after tho time the crime was committed. . * Thousands of holiday-makers, mostly women, are joining -in sifting the sands and burning bracken off in tbo search for tue missing bag-of jewellery. A previous cable stated that the murdered girl was acquainted with a young Frenchman named "Louis," who she met on»tho top of a 'bus and corresponded" with frequently. She * broke off the . friendship in June, when sho said she was going for .a holiday, remarking that sho did not know and did not care where she was going.
