The War 1 Lord, which is at present loading hardwood timber at Newcastle for Auckland, and thence comes to Gishorne, is a three-masted topsail schooner; built :ii 11M7 ?it the Ballingor river, N.S.W. She is lOift. lons. 20ft. breadth, and has Sft. 9in. depth of hold. The, hull is of Australian hardwood, and her spars are all Oregon, her cabin being of rosewood. Hoinur specially built for working bar harbnis t she j.-i uf shallow draught, with a large crntro lin.'ml, hor draught fully loaded being 7tt. tiln., which inakt's her specially .suitable for trading to Glsbovne. Slip has two spacitfus holds, is fitted with steam winches and. all the modern conveniences for the. quick handling of cargo. Mr. Clare, the, local agent. Informs us that upon discharge at Auckland; the War Lord will load coal at that port for Gisborne, and will then be kept permanently in the Auckland-Gisborne trade.
