WAIMATA VALLEY.
An enjoyablo euchre party and daneo was held in the Waimata hall on Friday evening and in spite of the inclement -"•eathcr there were about fifty present. The first portion of . the evening was occupied with euchre, Mr ~G. V. Gray supervising tbe games. The first prize in the ladies' section . was secured by Mrs G. V. Gray *and in the gentlemen's sec-: tion by.'MuFG. I. Burnnand. The con- : solation prizes went to Miss Redmond and Mr J. J. Rogers. An excellent supper was provided by the ladies, and - was greatly appreciated. Dancing was commenced aboufe 10 o'clock and was carried oh with much enthusiasm until about 3 a.m. Mr. G. I. lliirnnand officiated as M.C. During the evening a number of vocal items'' were rendered and added to the evening's enjoyment. Tlie vocalists were Misses I. I'urnnand and Armitage, Messrs B. Hill and C\o. Chrlstofferscn. Mr Furgle entertajiled tho gathering with an Irish jig. Extras and accompaniments were kindly contributed by Misses Bond, M.. Mgnk, and MacGregor, Mrs Hyland and Mr Furgie. — Correspondent. •
