-I Some time ago the Napier City Council invited tenders for the supply of four tramcars, but the price was so high that no tender was accepted, the cost of each car being in the neighborhood of £5000. This was considered by the Tramways Committeo, and on the reepmmondationi of the engineer and tramway manager it has been decided to call for alternative tenders for four and eight cars respectively.
