STRIKE OF SHEARERS.
SYDNEY, July 17. The first blow m the shearing trouble has been struck. Shearers on the Miakin station., Moree, ceased' work following on the refusal of a. demand for increased rates.
A meeting of shearers iv Sydney resolved to demand a weekly wage for all classes employed m connection, with shearing, also 10 per cent, increase m wages lor every iweek or part of a week the sheds are kept idle by pastoralists declininir to concede these demands. — U.P.A. "
