VICTORIA (8.C.), July 17. Tbe Australasian journalists, have arrived en route Ito the Press Conference at Ottawa. • OTTAWA, July 17. It is announced at Montreal that following on three days' conference the press delegates make 'a 47 days' tour of Canada, visiting nine provinces, and covering 85Q^ miles.— A. and N.Z.C.A. (Received July 19. 9.10 a.m.) VANCOUVER. July 17. Arriving late m tho evening, the journalists were welcomed by tbe Vancouver Institute of Journalists informally. They proceed this morning* by two ■ special ■ trains 'on the. CanadianPacific railways to Sydney, Nova Scotia, to meet the British contingent and tour the country westward of Ottawa. The conference programme has been partially ami-need from August sth to 10th. These will be an address by Mr. Meighen, the new Premier of Canada, on general topic's of the day — Empire press cables, wireless telegraphy, press censorship, and ' the news-, print snpoly. Discussion wiH be opened by Lord Burnham and continue throuabout the afternoon, of August 4. The dismssion on the Eimpire Press Union will be on August 6. Empire partnership will be the -only general topic at the morning session. " Oln Aueust 7 the morning session will deal with Empire trade, and the afternoon press and postwar problems.— A. and N.Z.C.A.
