TE KUITI, this day. ' Last night's express from Wellington struck a slip south of Taihape. Some passengers were thrown from their seats. No damage was done beyond a burst pine on one engine. The under-car-riag&s and the sides 'of the carriages were covered with mud and sand. A big papa rock jambed m the step of the second carriage. One passenger said that finly the speed of the train carried them through. • CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
