V The imports for April totalled dßl67,ooo,ooo,compared with £112,<X)0,(XX> m April last year, and the exports £106,000,000 compared with £58,000,000. The increased imports . are chiefly raw materials; notably cotton. Meat • de> creased over £7,000,000. The increased exports include over £4,000,000 for articles wholly or mainly manufactured hy cotton and yarns manufacturers, £4,500,000 for iron and steel manufacturers, £4,500,000 for woollen, worsted, and yarns, £3,250,000 for vehicles, hi eluding locomotives, ships, and air craft, and over £2,000,000 for manufactures of. other textile materials. Th* imports . for the four months amounted to £697,000,000, an increase of £338,000,---000. The exports totalled 4)401,000,000. an increaso of £196,000,000 Compared with 1919. ': s- .'.'.' -
