The races* for the second trial fours for tho Mayor's trophies last ruiglit on a course extendiing from Roe> buck Road bridge to th» band rotunda; This was the first- occasion that racing has been indulged in • over this course, and it proved very satisfactory, despite'i tiho fact that three bridges-, had to be riSgotiated. In future : all the club's, races wiil finish at the 'rottinda, a proceeding ' that will enable spectators to better view tho exciting parti .of the races. The dredging done -along the course has proved most successful. - In the heats' 'last evening E; Warren defeated R. Patty by a short lengith. The- race was evenly contested lo t4ie Derby Street bridge! After that Warren drew ahead, and despite a hot challenge- from Pa.t^y in the latter stages of ih© rac© he rowed in' -the winner. 11l the second wee D. Menzies pulled past the post first, beating B.
