ALLIED WARSHIPS FIRED UPON.
REPORTED LANDING AT RIGA.
(The Times.) LONDON, October 15. The Times' Reval correspondent cabled on. October 14 stating that whilst Bermondt had sent a message to the Allies : asking them to negotiate between him and the Letts, his German artillery oflicers fired on Allied warships. 'Commander Tudor immediately wircl<**«od. "The enemy has opened well-directed lire Stop it or I shall locate and destroy thc batteries." The warships returned the fire. According to an unconfirmed report the Allies landed and occupied part I of.. Riga.
