BOWLING.
At the adjourned annual meeting of delegates of the clubs comprising the East Coast Bowling Centre, delegates were present fron* Ghsborne, Kahutia, Port Ahuriri, Napier, Bluff Hill, Wairere, and. Waipawa Clube. A proposal was submitted by the Gisbome Clubs that the competition for the Champion *ours be alternated between Napier and Irisborne, and a motion, was proposed that the competition be played eve-/ third year in Gisborne. An amendme; j was proposed that the 1919-20 Champi » JJoura be played at Gisborne as an experiment. A good deal of discussion ensued, ui which it was contended thai, owrhg to there being ten clubs affected in the Hawke's Bay ( portion of the Centre as against only two olubs in G'aborne,.the proposal would not be wor.;---ab l& , as it would not be practicable f'J.* so. many clubs, especially the Waipawa and Waapukurau Clubs, to get teams away to Gisborne owing to the uncertainty of the communications with that ni B*"^'8 *"^' A B ainst this it was argued that the Gisborne end shoiild be given a sporting chance, and tliat the proposal "O play the matches every third year was reasonable. The amendment was carried on a show of hands. A further amendment to hold over consideration of the question till next season was lost, it was decided that it be a strong recommendation to the Management Committee to endeavor to arrange tliat the Lhampion Fours be played on more convenient dates than Jutnerto, preferably j Unng m^ 6 Chri staias or Now Year holidays, lhe levy on clubs for the Centre'e lands was fixed at sixpence per memoer tor the incoming year.
