The Pension" Board had difficulty until recently m dealing with soldiers suffering from tuberculosis, >e specially m enrfes m which the sickness became apparent, some time after the soldier's return to 1 this country. c Sir James Alien s?. id 'yesterday that the board had more recent medical evidence, which enable ij to connect tuberculosis diseases with Avar service. Members of > the board! had recognised fi'om the beginning that sufferers from tuberculosis diseases- wfcrej under great hardship, but felt that- the Ir.w would not allow them 'to give re lief. A number of cnaes had been reviewed already with advantage to the soldiers concerned. PARIS, July l1 :— Twenty-five thousand French soldiers died from tubercuW* 'during the war and 120,000 men weo exempted from service because of t,Up disease, it was stated to-day m the Jsei:rtte during a discussion on a bill, to eet-i j»lish tuberculosis aauatoriums.
