DEFINITE PROPOSALS r FOR SET, - TLEMENT.

It is understood that representatives of the Seamen's Union and the Disputes Committee have presented to the Government definite proposals for the settlement of the strike. The' details are closely guarded, but it is believed that the Committee asked for permission to interview Walsh, which was ; refused. The Committee is now considering a new move, but the outlook is not hopeful. '
The Trades Hall Council has agreed to circularise unions for financial help.
