An excellent programme wtd be pre-." sen ted at Eyerybpdy's to-night, the chief subjects being; a splendid Western drama aria the - continuation •of '"the House of Hate" serial. An elaborate plot is, not always necessary for a good '.'• screen drama. Tbis Is proved by the Triangle feature, "The Medicine ■ Man, 1 ":/ which itrips the interest from .the start, it is the straightforwardness: and sincere naturalness of the play which constitutes it one of the most likeable pictures for many a day. Roy Stewart" plays the central partj and the scenes ate laid iii beautiful and wild western landscapes. The story : centres round the attempt of*' Two questionable characters to rob a young girl of the ownership of a mine which is found to be 'very - valuable. They are foiled ;by a great-hearted .'**6nof the West, who is perfectly portrayed by Roy Stewart. He makes the part pery convincing, and' proves, himself one of the best fighting stars oh the screen. The seventh episode of ''The; House of Hate" serial is entitled* "The Germ Menace," and deals • with germs com ccaled in an envelope for the heroine. < One of the men from Java breathes the ' germs into his lungs by mistake, and the I episode closes with the Hooded Terror Slowly bending the heroine's head towards the fatal .envelope. '. ■ \ ' HIS MAJESTY'S; / ', It is claimed that- the- programme to be i shown at His Majesty's Theatre, to-night j wili be one, of. the hest ever screened in , Australasia. The pictures 'comprise two ; star dramas, a star comedy, two topical films and a Burton Holmes Travellogue. ' Tn the principal star drama, "Blue Blazes ' Rawden," that rugged-faced player, Wm. S. Hart, is seen in one of his b<*st characterisations, a lumberman who. fears neither God nor man. With his gang he descends on a mining .town where many thrilling adventures' take place, includ- j Ing a* ..desperate : --fijp-ht in y a darkened i saloon for a girl. The lumberman *s ad- , versary is killed, but pathos . enters the ] plot when the mother .arrives in : the town" to' seek her sbh. The ending of the } story 'is a very unexpected one. Roscoc 'i Arbuckle will be seen in "The Cook," ' which is said by. the producers to be the greatest of all comedies. The fat comedian is the .boss of a head, cafe, and the execution of the orders of the customers,; the mishaps, and finally an eccentric Salome , dance . should- cause a roar of j laughter from beginning to end. "Charity BaTT' is a touching drama tc- , lfeved by occasional humorous;,situations, Which should please all classes* of patrons.
