......rtk-f (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. News was received to-day that the Terawhiti was alongside the stranded steamer Kowhai. Operations will depend on the weather conditions. The sea. has moderated. AUCKLAND, last night. The Herald's Huntly ' correspondent telegraphs that a mass meeting of miners was held at Pukemiro to-day, when the company's proposals were rejected. The opinion, was expressed that m view, of the projected working of a State mine m the vicinity the Government should take 'over and. work the Pukemiro mine. There are indications that further., negotiations are useless and; that the dispute will go into the hands of the Federation of Labor. The Conciliation Commissioner is still at Huntly. DUNEDIN, last nigjit. Mr Albert Goldie, representing the Los Angeles authorities, to-day conferred with the U.S.S. Co. officials regarding the direct steamer sei*vice to ; Los Angeles.'
