At Dunedin Margaret Parker was sentenced to four months' imprisonment on a. charge of selling ' liquor without a license. Defendant had previously been fined twice; and had been sentenced to three months' imprisonment on similar charges. Quite an unusual sight waa witnessed m town- recently m the shape of a bullock team. As these slow-moving creatuxe. slowly progressed up our main street, it ' was interesting to note the comparison between them and other modes of tractlon - Carriers' carts passed them as though they wer© standing, but the difference was most marked when a heavilyladen motor lorry, drawing a trailer, also filled with goode, rattled past the patient buUockß_and soon left them fin* m the r i car "j-i* ■ •"■■ wis a striking example of the difference m modem methods and those of years age. This difference is ' very pronounced m the shops m our riiam street. One window m particular i stands out prominently. Cramnied full of goods, all marked m plain figures, it is indeed an eye-opener. In spite of the tremendous advance m the original : P° Bfc of every lino, the goods displayed b J .."™ People's Emporium" are still sold at bedrock prices, and this progres- ' siyo firm thoroughly merits the liberal! i support they receive.* I
