Jones (Wellington) ; also tlie following delegate*, and -members: Messrs N. McCrobie and F. W. Jones (Auckland), A. L. Muir (Gisborne), A. A. George (Hastings), Hugh \V. Crawford (Whangarei). _\if. F. Willis. H. V. Duigan, and Geo. North (Wangaimi), P. Bond (Nelson), R. P. Furncvss (Blenheim), F. Pirani (Feilding), T. C. List and. W. C. Weston (New Plymouth), A. J. Benzie and E. O. The chairman expressed gratification ' that the war had come to v conclusion during the year, and referred to the great difficulty that had bepn experienced m conducting printing business during the continuance of hostilities. Difficulties still existed', and the future was far from being clear of troublesome problems. Any expectation tliat the price of paper and other materials would fall had not been realised. Mr. Gamble referred to arbitration and conoiliati-m matters so far as they affected tho printing trade, and urged the exercise of wise patience on the part of leaders on both sides, so that a minimum of friction would take place. He also briefly referred to the matter of apprenticeship and technical training and other matter* of interest to th© trade. Resolutions Were passed unanimously : "-That this an lViial meeting of New Zealand Master Printers' Association desires to express its deep sympathy with all connected with the printing trade m the Dominion of New Zealand who have lost relatives m the great war, which was concluded with a complete victory for our Empire and its Allies on November 12, 1918; that this Association thankfully recordsits gratification to Divine Providence at the triumphant conclusion of the war, and tliat the menace to ci-viliaation threatened by the onrush of aggressive militarism has been fully and permanently checked. Officers elected for the ensuing year were : President, Mr. J. Gamble (Christen urch) ; vice-president, Mr. T. Cook. ( Dunedin) ; members of Council : Messrs. W. F. Toper (Christchurch), A. Spencer (Auckland), S. Craig (Southland), L. T. Wutkins and T. Jones (Wellington) ; Distriot Council representatives, Messrs, F. I'ond (Auckland, country), H. J. Bushnell (Gisborne), H. V. Duigan (Wanganui), T. Avery (Taranaki), G. N. Variables (Hawke's Bay), F. Pirani (Feilding). P. Bond (Nelson), C. East (South Canterbury), and E. H. Waddington (Wairurapn.): auditor, Mr. Ji. Kellow.
